Welcome to Mexico and District 4100.
It is a true honor for me to welcome you to this very special stage of your lives. My name is Maria Estela Zepeda, although within our Rotary family I am known as Matela. I have the privilege of serving as the Chair of the Youth Exchange Program in our district.
From this moment on, I together with our team of coordinators will be responsible for guiding and supporting you, and for ensuring that this year becomes one of the most enriching, transformative, and memorable experiences of your lives.
I want you to know that each one of you has been carefully selected and accepted by our dear outgoing Chair, Guadalupe Cervantes, who for the past four years has led this program with great dedication and commitment, leaving a strong foundation on which we will continue to build.
Our District 4100
Geographically our district is very large and includes the Mexican estates of Baja California border to USA; Baja California Sur with lovely beaches, Sonora and the state of Sinaloa that has extensive agricultural lands, tourist destinations and a very large tuna Industry.

Baja California
Beautiful cities and beautiful touristic destinations that receive thousands of visitors every year due to their beautiful beaches, being the wine capital of the country, capital of Mexican Surfing and due to their bold and delicious gastronomy.
Baja California Sur
With famous beaches, great gastronomy, water activities, Art, a whale sanctuary, sightings of gray whales and protected islands.
Sonora
The place where the desert and the sea meet». It is composed by mountains, desert and beaches. Its main economic activities are agriculture, fishing, factories and aerospace and automotive industry.
Sinaloa
It is the most important agricultural state in México, the second most important in fishing and has a very good academic offer.
Today marks the beginning of an adventure that goes far beyond learning a language or discovering a new country. It is an opportunity to grow, to challenge yourselves, to open your minds and hearts, and to become true citizens of the world.
